There have been various reports in media that Shankar directed Rajnikant starrer Robot, collected Rs 500 Crores. And some reports event said that the movie collected Rs 100 Crs in a single day. Such baseless rumors and figures have been put to rest by the production house Sun Pictures that produced the film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
The production house is a public listed company, so it made the figures officially to the public.

Total earnings (collections, satellite rights and other revenues) - Rs 179 Crores
Well, this is highest grocer among South Indian films. And probably the third or fourth highest grocers of all time in India after 3 Idiots and Dabaang.
